FAQ for Artists
What is MidtownVibes.art, and who is behind it?
MidtownVibes.art is a public art initiative that aims to support cities in transforming from functional places into livable, inspiring environments.
The initiative builds on Jan’s long-standing experience with the successful "Die Alltagsmenschen" art project, already implemented in many cities.
We are at the beginning with our initiative – and want to build something impactful together with artists.
Is there already a website or official presentation?
Yes, we have a website introducing our vision and approach.
As we're still in a deliberate early phase, we don’t yet have a final presentation.
Where do the exhibitions take place?
Our projects take place in collaboration with cities, mainly in public spaces – on squares, in parks, or unused urban corners.
How can I apply?
Submit your application via our online form, including a short intro and your portfolio or project sketch. We welcome existing works or new ideas.
What kind of art are you looking for?
We’re open to many forms – installations, sculpture, street art, temporary interventions, light art, interactive works…
The key is: your art should work in public space, resonate with people, and have a positive impact.

No. We intentionally welcome diverse artistic styles.
Your work should simply fit the site, the urban setting, and invite engagement.
How does the collaboration work?

If a city shows interest in your work, we connect both sides.
Together, we’ll develop a fitting concept and support the implementation.
How are artists selected for projects?
Selection happens in collaboration with the cities.
We focus on artistic quality, authenticity, and a good match with the place.
Is there exchange with other artists?
We love the idea and are working toward formats like artist meetups, public talks, and collaborative workshops.

Financing depends on the specific project.
Cities use cultural funds, urban development budgets, or sponsors.
We aim to ensure fair fees and solid budgets – with no financial risk to artists.

No. Financing is handled by cities or partners.
Your work is also covered by insurance.
