What is MidtownVibes.art?
MidtownVibes.art is an initiative for public art.


Our goal is to revitalize and enrich inner cities, squares, and urban spaces through meaningful artistic interventions.


We connect cities with fitting artists and support the development and execution of projects.

Who is behind MidtownVibes.art?
The initiative was founded by Jan, building on their years of experience with the successful “Die Alltagsmenschen” art project.
MidtownVibes.art builds upon that know-how and expands it with fresh artistic perspectives.

How does public art benefit my city?​

Our projects are site-specific. Possible locations include:

  • Vacant buildings

  • Temporary urban spaces


 

Who selects the artists?
We provide a curated portfolio of artists.
Together with the city, we select the right artistic concept – tailored to the place, target audience, and desired impact.

 

 

What is the process from idea to implementation?​

  1. Initial consultation and site exploration

  2. Artist selection

  3. Concept development

  4. Coordination with authorities, property owners, and residents

  5. Production, installation, and communication


 

What is the city’s role?
The city is a project partner, provides public space, and supports permits, communication, and possibly funding.
We collaborate closely and transparently with all departments involved.

 


How is the project funded?
Projects can be funded through cultural programs, urban development budgets, sponsorships, or grants.
We advise on funding and support the application process.


 

Who handles logistics, setup & safety?
We manage the execution and ensure smooth operations.
Setup, transport, and insurance are handled by experienced partners.


 

How long does a project take?
Smaller projects can be implemented in a few months.
Larger formats may take 6–18 months depending on planning and approval timelines.


 

Are there temporary and permanent projects?
Yes. Depending on the city's preferences and the artwork, projects can be temporary, semi-permanent, or long-term.

Is there public communication around the project?
Yes. We’re happy to develop communication formats together with the city – such as openings, guided tours, press, social media, or educational formats.


 

Are there long-term opportunities or follow-up formats?
Our goal is to continuously inspire cities with new art.
We aim to build long-term partnerships and explore formats like yearly art series, artist residencies, or thematic programs.
